"I got low....In more ways than one..."
So I am new to this whole blogging world, however my mom has one that I read every once in a while to keep up with her crazy Texan life, so I decided why not...and the fact that I just got back from one of the most amazing spring break trips ever didn't hurt...
Myself and 11 other girls traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico this past week for 6 days and 5 nights of complete chaos. I think about 10 of the 12 all had flights out of RDU at 6:00 AM the morning of the 14th meaning we had to be at the airport at 4:30, meaning we had to leave for the airport at 3:50 (to pick up the crew, etc.). Now, you may not think that's early, but on top of all that we had to loose an hour because of daylight savings, so none the less, I decided it would be a great idea to just stay up all night and got in the shower at 2:00 AM in order to get ready and finish packing before heading off. Now that is an early morning!

When we all finally made it to Puerto Rico, the fun started. The first night we decided we would "take it easy". So, we made our way down to the hotel casino (by the way, the hotel we stayed in was BEAUTIFUL) and tried our hand at some gambling, for no more than 10 minutes. At that time, Sarah came up and informed us that San Juan had a Senor Frogs...Since we were looking for somewhere "safe" and "touristy" we all decided that Senor Frogs was a great idea. Now, I am not going to get into specifics of the whole night (however if you are reading this and were lucky enough to be on this trip, you are MORE than welcome to get into the details in the comment section) but lets just say our "easy night" turned out like this...followed by a late night swim (or shall I saw lap swim with Jennifer WITH flipturns)

Monday, we all woke up, surprisingly feeling great, and laid by the pool all day. The hotel had a great pool with a swim up bar, as well as a hot tub, and a salt water pool. So we had a wide variety of options! We got all dolled up for dinner and walked down the street to this little restaurant right on the water. Cute place, with good food! I however, stepped out on the edge and decided I would try a local Puerto Rican entree called a Mofongo and it was not so great in my opinion...but oh well still very fun! We just went back to the hotel that night and hung out by the hotel bar and really did have an easy night...

Tuesday, we once again woke up feeling great and went back down to lay by the pool/beach. A couple of the girls were planning on making a little day trip into Old San Juan to walk around and shop a little so the majority of us joined them. Old San Juan is adorable! It is so pretty and so quaint. I definitely recommend it to anyone traveling in Puerto Rico...if anyone actually travels there besides Spring Breakers? As we were all walking around, we got a little thirsty and just happened to stumble upon this waterfront restaurant, Tijuana's. Now, of course in college thirsty doesn't equate to water, it equates to margaritas...duh (oh and $2 tequila shots...sorry mom if you are reading this). So after a couple drinks and free chips with UNBELIEVABLE salsa, we made our way back to Condado Beach. We once again got all dolled up and went to this great Mexican restaurant that Emmy's dad raved about. They had the strongest margaritas that I have ever had in my entire life and I am sure everyone else would agree with me..that dinner was by far the BEST dinner that we had that week...SOOOOOO good! We attempted to go to the bar at the Waldorf after dinner, but I guess Tuesday's are not big nights down there so we eventually, after much trial and error, went back to the hotel bar again and rested up for what would turn about to be a HUGE day/night on Wednesday...

Wednesday was so much fun! We woke up and went to the rain forest at 9:00 AM with the COOLEST cab drivers ever, Senior and Junior. They were the bomb all week. Junior was our go-to guy every day/night we were there! We "hiked" around the rain forest for a couple hours and we were able to swim in this beautiful waterfall during our trip. It was so pretty and felt so good! Alex, was dead set on seeing a Monkey throughout our journey in the rain forest, however we were somewhat disappointed when the only animal life we saw were some lizards. We went to the most gorgeous beach afterward and just relaxed for about an hour, which was much needed before our crazy night ahead. We had heard about this really cool Irish bar called Shannons that was supposed to be absolutely crazy on St. Patrick's day so we got ready and decided to try it out. Upon our arrival, however, we came to find out the line just to get in was 3 hours long. We waited for about 30 minutes and then, of course, decided Senor Frogs was a MUCH better idea. We went to Senor Frogs and ate dinner and then happened to remember that Tijuana's had $2 tequila shots and was right down the street-how convenient (sorry again mom). So, once again I won't get into details (or better said, numbers) but lets just say they may have run out of tequila between the 12 of us girls...oh, wait, and the 12 boys from Oklahoma. If i remember correctly, Jennifer had this whole scheme planned out to where we would need a group picture taken of us, and these 3 boys just HAPPENED to be sitting across from us who looked completely capable of taking this picture. It is also important to note that these 3 boys were only sitting alone because they thought the girls their friends were sitting with were unattractive (HA!)...So they took the picture for us, and were then invited to join our table...and I think this is when "things got real." This group of boys were the only "normal" boys we had seen all week so we automatically more-or-less fell in love with the IDEA of them. It seemed to work out to where almost each girl had a boy? Ironic, I know. (Don't get me wrong now..not EVERY girl had a boy..some of us seemed to like dancing with the girls instead...or at least I know I did haha) The, I guess, 24 of us all walked on down to Senor Frogs..AGAIN for one of the biggest and baddest dance parties I have ever been a part of. By far the most hilarious, ridiculous, absurd, craziest, uncalled for nights of my life. I will speak for the 12 of us when I say "we got low...in more ways than one..." compliments of Hannah.

Thursday, thanks to Wednesday, was the most hilarious morning of my life. We all went down to the pool to get some sun as well as discuss our actions from the night before (one of the best parts of college). We laughed more this day then I think I have my entire life. We laid out all day before going to shower for our last night out in San Juan :( We had planned on going to the Waldorf again because we heard it was a lot of fun on Thursday nights...but I'm sure you can guess where we ultimately ended up...yep, Senor Frogs. We stayed at the hotel bar for a little while because it was their grand opening, and to meet up with some boys from NC State (Lauren's boyyyyfriendddd). We all then made our way to Senor Frogs, and this time Junior (taxi driver) actually came out with us! It was a great night once again and from the pictures I have seen surface over facebook, Hannah and I were dancing queens...once again....I'm pretty sure I actually thought I could do the Stanky Leg? Correct me if I am wrong...

Friday was our flight out and it was NOT fun. Emmy (note: whose flight left at 7:00 AM) was waiting in the airport when we arrived for our flight which left at 1:00 PM (I guess that goes to show how much fun we had Thursday night)...who else was waiting in the airport upon our arrival you ask?...ironically, the 12 boys from Wednesday night. I am not lying when I say it may have been the most awkward day I have ever experienced. They did not speak to us and visa versa. Although many looks and glances were exchanged between the two groups, I think we all thought it was better if we keep to ourselves and pretend like we never met. Haha especially since Hannah and I were frolicking around the airport in our new Puerto Rico tees...not cool! We arrived back in Raleigh around 9:00 PM and the first round of pictures, thanks to picture queen Lauren had already found its way to facebook by midnight (I might be lying about that)...I think all of us have been checking facebook religiously to make sure any incriminating photos are automatically de-tagged.
A big thank you to Alex, Anna Wooten, Jennifer, Sarah, Chelsie, Lauren, Emmy, Neel, Logan, Hannah, Katie, Junior, the 12 Oklahoma boys, and Senor Frogs to one of the best weeks of my life...
